So I’m sure you’ve notice by now that I love my chicken! I love it a lot!
So I have been experimenting lately and finally found the most perfect fried chicken nuggets recipe there is.
They were moist, packed lots of flavors and easy to make!
1 full chicken breast
1 cup buttermilk substitute ; you can find the recipe here
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp chicken spice
1 tsp ginger powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp pepper
Cut chicken into nuggets
Soak in buttermilk for 30 minutes.
(If you’re looking for extra flavour, add half the quantity of the spices to the buttermilk before adding the chicken)
Place your skillet on the stove and fill it with 1/2-1 inch of vegetable oil.
Mix flour, salt and spice in a large bowl. In a small bowl, beat your eggs.
Take one piece of chicken out of the buttermilk, coat it in the flour mixture, then the egg and back into the flour mixture. Do this for all your nuggets.
Fry in small batches at a time making sure you do not over crowd your skillet (I suggest 5-7 nuggets at a time) it should take 5-7 minute on each side.
When they’re ready, take them out of the oil and place them on paper towels to drain completely.
The result :
I enjoyed mine with bottled chicken sauce and fresh green peppers.
They were moist and crispy even when they were cold so this recipe is a definite keeper!
